Hi, I’m Tabi! Beside Seoul, Goyang offers lakeside walks and historic sites. Ilsan’s lake and Deogyang’s fortress and tombs are separate outings; choose one first.
This guide covers places within Goyang, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.
01 · EXPLORE
Three places to begin Three places with different atmospheres. Start with the one that appeals to you instead of visiting them all.
01 A first-visit stop
Ilsan Lake Park 일산호수공원
An urban park with paths and greenery around a lake. Choose a lakeside section rather than circling every path; flowers and events vary by season.
Getting there Check the approach from Jeongbalsan station on Subway Line 3
02 A first-visit stop
Haengjusanseong Fortress 행주산성
A fortress site associated with the Battle of Haengju. Expect slopes rather than a flat park; the photo shows restored earthen ramparts in 2016.
Getting there Check bus or other transport to the entrance in Haengjunae-dong
A first-visit stop
Seooreung Royal Tombs 서오릉
A historic site of Joseon royal tombs and wooded paths. Follow designated visitor routes; it is a separate area from the lake park and fortress.
Getting there Check transport and the visitor entrance on Seooreung-ro
02 · A LITTLE BITE
What could you try? Gawaji rice is a specialty crop promoted by Goyang City. Look for labeled local products as gifts; do not assume every restaurant in Goyang serves this rice.
