Hi, I’m Tabi!

Seki offers cutlery culture and a pond in Itatori. Choose Sekiterasu’s surroundings or Monet’s Pond first; these areas are better planned separately.

This guide covers places within Seki, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.

01 · EXPLORE

Three places to begin

Three places with different atmospheres. Start with the one that appeals to you instead of visiting them all.

01

A first-visit stop

Sekiterasu

せきてらす

A starting point for visitor information and Seki’s cutlery culture. Browse information and souvenirs, checking schedules and booking requirements for any workshop.

Getting there
Approach from Sekiterasu-mae station on the Nagaragawa Railway

Monet’s Pond

名もなき池(通称:モネの池)

A pond beside Nemichi Shrine in Itatori. Water, koi and water lilies look different with the season and light. It lies outside central Seki; check bus connections and the return journey.

Getting there
Bus access involves a connection at Horado Kiwi Plaza

A first-visit stop

Seki Sword Tradition Museum — currently closed

関鍛冶伝承館

A museum of Seki’s sword-making tradition. Officially scheduled to close for renovation from September 7, 2026 through March 31, 2027; the period may change and reopening is not yet confirmed. Leave it out of current visiting plans and check new notices.

Getting there
Near Sekiterasu-mae station; confirm reopening before planning a visit

02 · A LITTLE BITE

What could you try?

Grilled eel served over rice is a local food associated with Seki. Sauce and portions vary. This is not an endorsement of a particular restaurant or its current menu; check ingredients and prices.

03 · YOUR FIRST WALK

Keep your first walk simple

Try Sekiterasu-mae station → Sekiterasu. Leave the closed sword museum out of the visit, and arrange separate transport for the pond in Itatori.

Check the walking route

Check actual distances and travel times on the map. This suggested walk is separate from your app movement record.

Before you set off

  • The sword museum is currently closed; do not assume a reopening date.
  • Do not combine the pond with a central-city walking route.
  • Pond colors and water lilies vary with season and light.
