Hi, I’m Tabi!

Visit a shrine and traces of a former post station in Mizuho, Gifu. Distinguish these from places with similar names elsewhere.

This guide covers places within Mizuho, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.

Two places to begin

Two different places: start with whichever interests you.

居倉の天神神社

A shrine associated with traditions of Ikuragawa-no-miya. The photo shows the entrance area in 2007, not interior artefacts. Keep to areas currently open for worship.

A first-visit stop

Mieji-juku post-station site

中山道美江寺宿跡

A place to trace the history of a Nakasendo post station. The photo shows a marker in Mie Shrine’s grounds in 2008, not an original post-station building. Respect the surrounding residential area.

Getting there
Check the current approach and return transport on the map.

02 · A LITTLE BITE

What could you try?

Mizuho is presented as the birthplace of Fuyu persimmons. Check seasonal availability, origin and labels, and do not enter private orchards or the mother-tree area without permission.

03 · YOUR FIRST WALK

Keep your first walk simple

Try the first destination’s permitted entrance → public areas. Choose the other stop after checking separate transport and access.

Check the walking route

Check actual distances and travel times on the map. This suggested walk is separate from your app movement record.

Before you set off

  • Check entry arrangements and return transport first.
  • Choose one stop to suit weather, slopes and local restrictions.
  • Respect private areas and photography rules; check food ingredients locally.
