Hi, I’m Tabi!
Kani in Gifu offers a rose garden and hillfort remains. Begin at the garden and treat the Kaneyama and Akechi castle sites as separate outings.
This guide covers places within Kani, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.

Gifu World Rose Garden

Explore roses and seasonal flowers. The photo shows May 2017, when it was called Hana Festa Memorial Park. Check current blooms and admission information.
Getting there Check buses or taxis to the garden from JR Kani station
A hillside castle site in Kaneyama, with remnants of the old fortifications. The 2021 photo shows the Ninomaru area, not an intact castle building. Prepare for slopes and woodland paths.
Getting there Check transport to Kaneyama and the marked castle approach
A hillfort traditionally associated with Akechi Mitsuhide. Read local interpretation with attention to the distinction between tradition and verified remains, and plan a separate hill-path visit.
Getting there Check the approach from Meitetsu Akechi station
The official tourism guide features Kurintoman, a karinto manju product filled with chestnut paste using Kani chestnuts. It is one gift example; check ingredients and availability rather than treating this as a shop endorsement.
Try a loop from the rose garden entrance along marked paths. Choose one section according to current blooms, and arrange separate transport and walking preparation for the castle sites.
