Hi, I’m Tabi!

Choose one area to begin: a park walk or Hakata’s traditions. A pause beside Ohori’s pond or a shrine visit makes an approachable first outing.

This guide covers places within Fukuoka, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.

01 · EXPLORE

Three places to begin

Three places with different atmospheres. Start with the one that appeals to you instead of visiting them all.

A first-visit stop

Ohori Park

大濠公園

A city park with a large pond and trees. Start with a waterside pause; a gentle visit to this park can be enough for your first outing.

Getting there
Approach from Ohori Koen subway station

The torii and gate of Kushida Shrine02

A first-visit stop

Kushida Shrine

櫛田神社

A shrine closely associated with the Hakata Gion Yamakasa festival. Its torii and gate offer an introduction to Hakata’s traditions. Respect worshippers and photography guidance.

Getting there
Check approaches from Gion or Nakasu-Kawabata station

03

A first-visit stop

Fukuoka Castle Ruins

福岡城跡

Explore stone walls and castle remains in Maizuru Park. This is a castle site rather than a surviving main keep. Combine it with Ohori Park for greenery and history.

Getting there
Approach from Akasaka or Ohori Koen station

02 · A LITTLE BITE

What could you try?

Hakata ramen is known for pork-bone broth and thin noodles. Broths and toppings vary by shop. Read menu descriptions and check ingredients, allergens and prices before ordering.

03 · YOUR FIRST WALK

Keep your first walk simple

Try Ohori Koen station → Ohori Park → the castle site in Maizuru Park. Plan Hakata and Kushida Shrine as a separate outing by subway.

Check the walking route

Check actual distances and travel times on the map. This suggested walk is separate from your app movement record.

Before you set off

  • The park and shrine are in different areas; check connections first.
  • Choose a walking area suited to the weather and castle-site steps.
  • Respect worship areas and photography guidance.
