Hi, I’m Tabi!

Takahama is a coastal town in Fukui’s Wakasa region. The park and beach are separate stops; start with one after checking weather and access.

This guide covers places within Takahama, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.

01 · EXPLORE

Two places to begin

Two different places: start with whichever interests you.

Aerial view of Shiroyama Park and coastline01

A first-visit stop

Shiroyama Park and Meikyodo

城山公園・明鏡洞

A park on the former Takahama Castle site offers coastal scenery and the Meikyodo sea cave. The photo is an aerial view around the park, not a promise of an accessible viewpoint at that height. Use permitted paths and watch waves, rocks and restrictions.

Getting there
Check the current approach and return transport on the map.

Aerial summer view of Wakasa Wada Beach02

A first-visit stop

Wakasa Wada Beach

若狭和田ビーチ

Explore permitted areas of the sandy beach. Check swimming periods, hours, rescue-station operation and restrictions; sightseeing is separate from swimming. The photo shows summer scenery.

Getting there
Check the current approach and return transport on the map.

02 · A LITTLE BITE

What could you try?

The tourism association introduces tilefish known as Wakasa guji, seafood and dried-fish souvenirs. Check origins, seasonality, ingredients and seafood allergies; not every product is necessarily locally caught.

03 · YOUR FIRST WALK

Keep your first walk simple

Try the first destination’s permitted entrance → public areas. Choose the other stop after checking separate transport and access. Choose your departure point on the map.

Check the walking route

Check actual distances and travel times on the map. This suggested walk is separate from your app movement record.

Before you set off

  • Check entry arrangements and return transport first.
  • Choose one stop to suit weather, slopes and local restrictions.
  • Respect private areas and photography rules; check food ingredients locally.
