Hi, I’m Tabi!

Discover the old Koshu road and a river gorge in Ōtsuki. Begin around Saruhashi’s bridge, park and museum; mountain hikes require a separate plan.

This guide covers places within Ōtsuki, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.

01 · EXPLORE

Three places to begin

Three places with different atmospheres. Start with the one that appeals to you instead of visiting them all.

A first-visit stop

Saruhashi Bridge

猿橋

A distinctive wooden bridge over the Katsura River gorge, supported from both banks rather than by riverbed piers. The present bridge was rebuilt in 1984 using historical records.

Getting there
Check the approach from JR Saruhashi station

02

A first-visit stop

Ōtsuki Local History Museum

大月市郷土資料館

Explore local historical materials and household tools. After seeing the bridge, learn more about life in the area, checking current exhibitions and opening days.

Getting there
Check the museum location beside Saruhashi Park

03

A first-visit stop

Saruhashi Park

猿橋公園

Add a park pause west of the bridge. Flowers vary by season, so hydrangeas are not always in bloom. Watch your footing near the river and on steps.

Getting there
Follow park signs around Saruhashi

02 · A LITTLE BITE

What could you try?

03 · YOUR FIRST WALK

Keep your first walk simple

Try Saruhashi station → the bridge → the park or museum, checking steps and opening information. Plan travel to the Sasago area separately if seeking its sweets.

Check the walking route

Check actual distances and travel times on the map. This suggested walk is separate from your app movement record.

Before you set off

  • Check current entry rules, opening information and return transport.
  • Choose an outing suited to steps, slopes and weather.
  • Respect worship spaces and photography rules; check food ingredients at the shop.
