Hi, I’m Tabi!

This is Katsuragi Town in Wakayama, distinct from Katsuragi City in Nara. Visit the Amano shrine and Shigo’s persimmon-growing hamlets separately.

This guide covers places within Katsuragi, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.

Two places to begin

Two different places: start with whichever interests you.

Niutsuhime Shrine

丹生都比売神社

The photograph shows the red arched Rinkyo Bridge in 2023, rather than a panorama of the shrine buildings. Follow current guidance on crossing the steep bridge, worship and photography.

02

A first-visit stop

Kushigaki no Sato, Shigo

串柿の里・四郷

Farming hamlets known for persimmons hung to dry in late autumn. Do not enter private land or touch the hanging fruit. The scene is seasonal; give working vehicles room on narrow roads.

Getting there
Check the current approach and return transport on the map.

02 · A LITTLE BITE

What could you try?

Katsuragi is known for persimmons and dried products such as anpo-gaki. Distinguish edible dried fruit from decorative New Year kushigaki and check product labels.
