The pilgrimage route toward the historic cliff building is steep and carries a fall risk. Solo entry is prohibited: go in a group of at least two and pass the entrance clothing and footwear check. Climbing is prohibited in rain, severe weather or snow; check the temple’s same-day notice. A main-hall visit is separate from the climb.
