Hi, I’m Tabi!

Shinjuku Ward includes more than the huge station and shopping streets. Choose the gardens and shrine around Shinjuku or a separate outing in Kagurazaka.

This guide covers places within Shinjuku Ward, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.

01 · EXPLORE

Three places to begin

Three places with different atmospheres. Start with the one that appeals to you instead of visiting them all.

03

A first-visit stop

Kagurazaka

神楽坂

A neighborhood of sloping streets, lanes and shops. It is separate from the Shinjuku station area; check rail transport and respect residents and entrances.

02 · A LITTLE BITE

What could you try?

Naito chili pepper is an Edo Tokyo vegetable associated with Shinjuku. Official Shinjuku Gyoen dining guidance lists dishes using it; check spice levels, availability and separate garden entry conditions.

03 · YOUR FIRST WALK

Keep your first walk simple

Try Shinjuku-gyoenmae station → Shinjuku Gate → one part of the garden, after checking admission and opening. Plan Kagurazaka separately.

Check the walking route

Check actual distances and travel times on the map. This suggested walk is separate from your app movement record.

Before you set off

  • Check the exit for your destination at the large station.
  • Check garden opening days and prohibited items.
  • Follow worship and neighborhood photography guidance.
