Hi, I’m Tabi!
Akishima in western Tokyo offers historic temples and a municipal park. Choose the Haijima heritage area or Showa Park, distinguishing the latter from the similarly named national park.
This guide covers places within Akishima, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.

A first-visit stop
Dainichido Hall
大日堂
A Buddhist hall connected with Haijima’s history. The photo shows its exterior in 2020, not guaranteed interior access. Read heritage interpretation and visit public areas quietly.
Getting there Check the hall location in Haijimacho
A local temple for worship. The entrance photo dates from 2010 and does not imply current events or interior access. The New Year daruma market is a specific event rather than an everyday feature.
Getting there Check public worship approaches in Haijimacho
A municipal park in Higashicho with trees and space for a pause. It is distinct from the national Showa Kinen Park; follow local rules for activity areas.
Getting there Check the approach from JR Higashi-Nakagami station
The city’s official guide features the Haijima negi preservation group and locally conserved long onions. Check origin and availability rather than assuming they are always sold or used in every dish.
Try the Haijima Daishi area → Dainichido along public neighborhood streets and worship approaches. Check interior access separately and save Showa Park near Higashi-Nakagami station for another outing.
