Hi, I’m Tabi!

Eastern Tokyo’s Katsushika offers temple approach streets, historic homes and seasonal gardens. Begin around Shibamata station, combining a neighborhood stroll with a quiet garden visit.

This guide covers places within Katsushika Ward, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.

01 · EXPLORE

Three places to begin

Three places with different atmospheres. Start with the one that appeals to you instead of visiting them all.

03

A first-visit stop

Horikiri Iris Garden

堀切菖蒲園

A garden known for irises. Flowers depend on season and weather, so do not expect the same displays in autumn. Plan separate transport from Shibamata.

Getting there
Check access from Keisei Horikiri-shobuen station

02 · A LITTLE BITE

What could you try?

Dango makes a small Shibamata snack, with sweet shops featured in official tourism guidance. Check varieties, fillings and ingredients, and follow shop guidance on where to eat.

03 · YOUR FIRST WALK

Keep your first walk simple

Try Shibamata station → the approach street → Taishakuten, adding Yamamoto-tei if preferred. Save Horikiri for a separate outing.

Check the walking route

Check actual distances and travel times on the map. This suggested walk is separate from your app movement record.

Before you set off

  • Check current entry rules, opening information and return transport.
  • Choose an outing suited to steps, slopes and weather.
  • Respect worship spaces and photography rules; check food ingredients at the shop.
