Hamura Intake Weir
羽村取水堰
An operating intake from the Tama River, linked to the history of the Tamagawa Josui waterway. View it from permitted public areas nearby. Do not enter operational facilities or approach the water; check river conditions and restrictions.

Exhibitions explain life alongside the Tama River and management of its water supply. Plan it as a separate stop to understand the waterside setting. Official access guidance says the museum’s Hamuran bus service does not operate on weekends, public holidays or year-end/New Year days from April 2026; check alternative transport.

The city introduces Hamura no Seki, a chestnut steamed-yokan-style sweet inspired by the weir. Consider this bean-and-chestnut confection as a local gift, checking ingredients, storage and availability when buying.
Try the first destination’s permitted entrance → public areas. Choose the other stop after checking separate transport and access. Choose your departure point on the map and check the actual approach.
