Hi, I’m Tabi!
Matsudo brings historic residences, a temple and parks to the Chiba side of Tokyo. Start around Matsudo station and Tojo-tei, visiting Kita-Kogane and the forest park separately.
This guide covers places within Matsudo, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.

A first-visit stop
Tojo-tei Residence
戸定邸
Visit the residence established by Tokugawa Akitake in 1884 and its surrounding park. Check building entry separately from park access; the photo shows its appearance in 2009.
Getting there Approach Tojogaoka History Park from Matsudo station
A temple known for hydrangeas and autumn foliage, which vary with season and weather. The photo shows its five-storied pagoda in November 2008. Respect worship areas and check current entry rules.
Getting there Check the temple approach from JR Kita-Kogane station
A municipal park of woodland, waterside scenery and open spaces. Choose one area and take breaks; it is a separate outing from the residence and temple.
Getting there Check access from the Shin-Yahashira and Yabashira station area
Pears are a local Matsudo specialty. Orchard picking is mainly an August–September activity, so do not assume it operates in October. Check each orchard’s current varieties, sales and activities.
Try Matsudo station → Tojogaoka History Park → the Tojo-tei entrance area. Check building entry separately and save Hondoji for an outing from Kita-Kogane station.
