Hi, I’m Tabi!

Abiko in Chiba brings lakeside nature and literary history together. Start around the park or literary museum; the bird museum can be a separate outing.

This guide covers places within Abiko, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.

01 · EXPLORE

Three places to begin

Three places with different atmospheres. Start with the one that appeals to you instead of visiting them all.

A first-visit stop

Teganuma Park

手賀沼公園

A lakeside park with trees, waterbirds and waterside views, photographed in 2009. A September 2026 city notice restricts the promenade near Wakamatsu 119 after heavy-rain damage. Follow detours and avoid the shore during heavy rain.

02 · A LITTLE BITE

What could you try?

Abiko’s tsukudani connects with a local tradition of preserving small fish and is promoted as a specialty. Check the fish, seasonings and storage instructions for each product.
