Hi, I’m Tabi!

Kawazu is a town in Shizuoka. Explore a valley and large trees at Deaidaru in the Kawazu Seven Falls and Kawazu Kinomiya Shrine. One waterfall photo does not guarantee current access to all seven falls; check visitor guidance.

This guide covers places within Kawazu, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.

01 · EXPLORE

Two places to begin

Two different places: start with whichever interests you.

Left-hand cascade at Deaidaru in 201901

A first-visit stop

Kawazu Seven Falls and Deaidaru

河津七滝・出合滝

The photo shows the left-hand cascade of Deaidaru in 2019, not another waterfall or current flow. Follow guidance for steps, bridges and each public viewing area and avoid approaching during high water. Ōdaru’s access hours vary by season; check them separately.

Getting there
Check the current approach and return transport on the map.

Buildings and large camphor tree at Kawazu Kinomiya Shrine in 202102

A first-visit stop

Kawazu Kinomiya Shrine

川津来宮神社

A shrine with a large camphor tree and shrine buildings. The photo shows the buildings and tree in 2021. Distinguish it from the similarly named shrine in Atami and follow tree-protection, worship and photography guidance.

Getting there
Check the current approach and return transport on the map.

02 · A LITTLE BITE

What could you try?

Town tourism guidance introduces wasabi and foods made with it. Check ingredients, origins, current menus and activity reservations with sellers or operators. A waterside visit does not imply permission to enter wasabi fields or harvest plants.

03 · YOUR FIRST WALK

Tabi’s two-stop visit suggestion

Visit the two places separately. Check distances and transport on the map rather than assuming a short walk.

Check the walking route

Check current routes and transport options on the map.

Before you set off

  • Check entry arrangements and return transport first.
  • Choose one stop to suit weather, slopes and local restrictions.
  • Respect private areas and photography rules; check food ingredients locally.
