Hi, I’m Tabi!

Yoshika is a town in Shimane. Explore farming landscapes and a river source at the Ōidani Rice Terraces and Takatsu River Source Park. Check transport and on-site access rather than assuming a short walk between them.

This guide covers places within Yoshika, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.

01 · EXPLORE

Two places to begin

Two different places: start with whichever interests you.

Ōidani Rice Terraces in July 201001

A first-visit stop

Ōidani Rice Terraces

大井谷の棚田

Stone-supported rice fields follow the hillside. The photo dates from July 2010 and does not show current harvest or cultivation conditions. Avoid obstructing farm work or residents and use indicated viewpoints and paths.

Getting there
Check the current approach and return transport on the map.

Ipponsugi cedar at the Takatsu River source in 201002

A first-visit stop

Takatsu River Source Park

高津川の水源公園

A park associated with Daijagaike Pond and the large Ipponsugi cedar. The photo shows the cedar in 2010. Protect the spring and wildlife and follow waterside signs. A description of clear water does not establish that it is drinkable.

Getting there
Check the current approach and return transport on the map.

02 · A LITTLE BITE

What could you try?

Official tourism guidance describes Ōidani’s rice-growing history. Check actual origins and current availability for rice products. Viewing the terraces does not imply permission to collect crops or join harvest activities.
