Hi, I’m Tabi!
Discover local history through castle ruins and a museum in former Azuchi Town. It is now part of Omihachiman; this guide keeps to the former town’s area.
This guide covers former Azuchi Town before the 2010 merger, rather than all of present-day Omihachiman or places immediately beside your check-in.

Azuchi Castle Ruins
安土城跡
Stone walls and the former keep site remain on the hill where Oda Nobunaga’s castle stood. The 2006 photo shows the keep ruins, not a surviving keep. Check current admission conditions and fees, and plan for slopes and stone steps.

This prefectural museum explores archaeology and castles of the medieval and Sengoku periods. Consider it alongside the castle ruins. The photograph shows the exterior in 2006; check current exhibitions and closing days.

Azuchi Nobunaga negi is a thick leek grown around Azuchi. It develops sweetness when cooked and is used in hot pots. Check seasonal availability and whether a shop or restaurant currently offers it.
