Hi, I’m Tabi!

Former Yogo became part of present-day Nagahama in the 2010 merger. This guide covers Lake Yogo and its lakeside hydrangea garden within the app’s original Yogo area, rather than the whole present-day city.

This guide covers places within Yogo area, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.

Two places to begin

Two different places: start with whichever interests you.

A first-visit stop

Lake Yogo

余呉湖

The large image is an elevated panorama, not the view from a level lakeside path. Choose currently accessible shore paths for a gentle walk; reaching this elevated viewpoint is a separate undertaking.

Getting there
Check the current approach and return transport on the map.

02

A first-visit stop

Lake Yogo Hydrangea Garden

余呉湖あじさい園

This is a seasonal lakeside stop, with hydrangeas chiefly an early-summer attraction. The lake panorama on this page does not depict the garden itself. The official guide notes that it has no dedicated parking or toilets.

Getting there
Check the current approach and return transport on the map.

02 · A LITTLE BITE

What could you try?

Funazushi is a Shiga regional food made by fermenting crucian carp with rice, rather than a dish exclusive to this area. Its aroma and acidity can be strong; try a small serving and check ingredients and availability.

03 · YOUR FIRST WALK

Keep your first walk simple

Try the first destination’s permitted entrance → public areas. Choose the other stop after checking separate transport and access.

Check the walking route

Check actual distances and travel times on the map. This suggested walk is separate from your app movement record.

Before you set off

  • Check entry arrangements and return transport first.
  • Choose one stop to suit weather, slopes and local restrictions.
  • Respect private areas and photography rules; check food ingredients locally.
