Hi, I’m Tabi!

North of Tokyo in Saitama, Soka offers pine-lined paths, an old highway and senbei culture. Begin around Soka Matsubara beside the Ayase River.

This guide covers places within Soka, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.

01 · EXPLORE

Three places to begin

Three places with different atmospheres. Start with the one that appeals to you instead of visiting them all.

Pines and promenade at Soka Matsubara01

A first-visit stop

Soka Matsubara

草加松原

A pine-lined promenade beside the Ayase River, recalling the old Nikko highway. Choose a comfortable section; the photograph’s seasonal scenery is not a current bloom report.

02

A first-visit stop

Fudaba-kashi Park

札場河岸公園

A park recreating the atmosphere of a former river landing, with stone steps and a wooden lookout. Learn about river trade; it is a reconstruction rather than an untouched historic site.

03

A first-visit stop

Soka History and Folklore Museum

草加市立歴史民俗資料館

Discover local life and industry through farming tools and senbei-making equipment. Check museum opening information separately from the outdoor promenade.

02 · A LITTLE BITE

What could you try?

Soka senbei are local rice crackers commonly based on rice and soy sauce. Rice, dough, flavoring and firmness vary by maker; check ingredients and product labels when choosing a snack or gift.

03 · YOUR FIRST WALK

Keep your first walk simple

Try Dokkyodaigakumae (Soka-Matsubara) station → the promenade → Fudaba-kashi Park. Choose just one riverside section and check the museum’s opening and approach separately.

Check the walking route

Check actual distances and travel times on the map. This suggested walk is separate from your app movement record.

Before you set off

  • Check current entry rules, opening information and return transport.
  • Choose an outing suited to steps, slopes and weather.
  • Respect worship spaces and photography rules; check food ingredients at the shop.
