Hi, I’m Tabi!
Chichibu City in Saitama combines mountain scenery, town life, shrines and festivals. Begin in the center or at Hitsujiyama Park; its wider attractions need separate outings.
This guide covers places within Chichibu, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.

A first-visit stop
Hitsujiyama Park
羊山公園
A hillside park overlooking Chichibu. The photograph shows the town in May 2014. Its moss phlox is a spring attraction; choose park paths and viewpoints suited to your pace.
Getting there Check the approach from Seibu Chichibu station
A shrine connected with traditions about Wado copper. The photo shows its gate and approach in 2019. Stay out of the nearby mining site’s stream and upper mountain path, closed because of rockfall and collapse risks.
Getting there Check the approach and return service from Wado-Kuroya station
Discover carved shrine architecture in the town center and learn about local faith and festivals. Visit quietly; Hijiri Shrine is a separate outing requiring its own transport plan.
Getting there Approach the shrine in Banbamachi from Chichibu station
Official visitor guidance features soba noodles and miso potato, a potato snack with miso flavoring. Check ingredients and preparations, which vary by shop.
Try Chichibu station → public streets around Chichibu Shrine → your starting point. Save the hillside park or Hijiri Shrine for another outing, excluding closed mining-site paths.
