Hi, I’m Tabi!

Explore views of Karatsu Castle and the pine forest of Niji no Matsubara. They are separate stops, so check transport between them. The lead image shows the castle beyond a bridge, rather than current construction or visitor arrangements.

This guide covers places within Karatsu, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.

01 · EXPLORE

Two places to begin

Two different places: start with whichever interests you.

Karatsu Castle keep seen beyond Jonaibashi Bridge01

A first-visit stop

Karatsu Castle

唐津城

The present keep was completed in 1966. The photograph shows Jonaibashi Bridge and the keep beyond it, not an unchanged Edo-period building. Check current admission arrangements and separate conditions for the park elevator.

Getting there
Check the current approach and return transport on the map.

Road through the pine forest at Niji no Matsubara02

A first-visit stop

Niji no Matsubara

虹の松原

A pine forest along Karatsu Bay. The image shows a road through the trees; it does not mean the carriageway is a walking trail. Choose safe pedestrian sections, watch for vehicles and bicycles, and protect the trees and restricted areas.

Getting there
Check the current approach and return transport on the map.

02 · A LITTLE BITE

What could you try?

Karatsu Burger has its main shop at Niji no Matsubara. Consider it for a simple meal on a forest visit. Confirm menus, opening days, parking and ordering arrangements with the operator, and keep clear of vehicle routes.

03 · YOUR FIRST WALK

Keep your first walk simple

Try the first destination’s permitted entrance → public areas. Choose the other stop after checking separate transport and access.

Check the walking route

Check actual distances and travel times on the map. This suggested walk is separate from your app movement record.

Before you set off

  • Check entry arrangements and return transport first.
  • Choose one stop to suit weather, slopes and local restrictions.
  • Respect private areas and photography rules; check food ingredients locally.
