Hi, I’m Tabi!
East of Osaka City, Higashiosaka offers shrines and a writer’s memorial museum. Begin in Ishikiri, Hiraoka or Kosaka rather than combining all three on foot.
This guide covers places within Higashiosaka, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.

A first-visit stop
Ishikiri Tsurugiya Shrine
石切劔箭神社
Known affectionately as Ishikiri-san, the shrine has an approach lined with traditional shops. Respect worshippers while exploring; religious traditions do not guarantee medical effects.
Getting there Approach from Shin-Ishikiri station on the Kintetsu Keihanna Line
A longstanding shrine of the Kawachi area at the mountain foot. The photograph shows its main sanctuary; check steps and worship guidance before choosing your route.
Getting there Approach from the east side of Kintetsu Hiraoka station
The writer’s home and a building by Tadao Ando form this museum. View the study through its window from the garden and explore the world of books in the tall bookcase space, checking visitor and photography rules.
Getting there Check routes from Kintetsu Kawachi-Kosaka or Yaenosato station
Higashiosaka promotes curry bread as a local food brand. Shapes and recipes differ by bakery; this does not mean curry bread was invented here. Check ingredients and availability.
Try Shin-Ishikiri station → Ishikiri Tsurugiya Shrine → the approach shops. Follow shrine and shop guidance and save Hiraoka or the Shiba museum for a separate rail outing.
