Hi, I’m Tabi!

Between Osaka and Kyoto, Takatsuki offers archaeological parks and river scenery. Start around the stations and Ama Site Park, arranging separate transport for the mound and Settsukyo.

This guide covers places within Takatsuki, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.

01 · EXPLORE

Three places to begin

Three places with different atmospheres. Start with the one that appeals to you instead of visiting them all.

Lawns and red-roofed farm buildings at Ama Site Park01

A first-visit stop

Ama Site Park

安満遺跡公園

A park interpreting a Yayoi-period archaeological site, with historic red-roofed farm buildings. Read the interpretation rather than expecting all ancient remains to be exposed.

Getting there
Check approaches from JR Takatsuki or Hankyu Takatsuki-shi station

The tree-covered Imashirozuka mound and surrounding park02

A first-visit stop

Imashirozuka Burial Mound Park

今城塚古墳

Explore ancient burial-mound history in parkland. Outdoor haniwa figures are replicas rather than original ancient objects; check museum exhibitions separately.

Getting there
Check buses toward the mound and routes to the park entrance

03

A first-visit stop

Settsukyo Park

摂津峡公園

A natural park around the Akutagawa River and wooded paths, separate from the central archaeological park. Check path conditions after rain and return transport; wear suitable shoes.

Getting there
Check buses toward Settsukyo from the Takatsuki station area

02 · A LITTLE BITE

What could you try?

Takatsuki udon gyoza are pan-fried portions of chopped udon mixed with meat and chives, rather than noodles wrapped in dumpling skins. Check ingredients and availability with the shop.

03 · YOUR FIRST WALK
