Hi, I’m Tabi!
Shimamoto is an Osaka town with shrines and traces of older travel routes. Begin with Minase Jingu or the Sakurai site; arrange a distillery visit separately after securing a reservation.
This guide covers places within Shimamoto, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.

Three places to begin
Three places with different atmospheres. Start with the one that appeals to you instead of visiting them all.

A first-visit stop
Minase Jingu Shrine
水無瀬神宮
Follow a tree-lined approach to the shrine. The photo shows its entrance torii in 2021. Tea-room visits require advance reservations, and its National Treasure materials are normally not displayed.
Getting there Check the approach from Hankyu Minase or JR Shimamoto station
A historic park commemorating an old relay-station site, not a former railway station. The 2006 photo shows trees and a monument; read the park interpretation as you explore.
Getting there Check the park location in Sakurai 1-chome
Learn about whisky production shaped by local water and climate. Entry requires a reservation, including shop-only visits. Check each visit option’s age and companion rules.
Getting there Plan separate transport to the facility in Yamazaki 5-chome
Yamazaki whisky connects with the distillery within this town. Adults may consider it as a gift, without assuming every product is available on site. Check purchase, tasting and entry conditions with the operator.
Try the Shimamoto station area → Sakurai Historic Park. Read the historical interpretation at your own pace; check separate routes and visiting arrangements before adding the shrine or distillery.
