Hi, I’m Tabi!

Kunigami is a village in northern Okinawa Island. Explore coastal scenery at Cape Hedo and regional products at Yuiyui Kunigami. The village is distinct from the wider district and the three-village Yanbaru area. Hiji Falls is excluded because official closure guidance remains in place.

This guide covers places within Kunigami, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.

01 · EXPLORE

Two places to begin

Two different places: start with whichever interests you.

A first-visit stop

Cape Hedo

辺戸岬

A cape with sea views and limestone terrain. This photograph shows rock formations in 2020; the cover shows the cape from the information center. Use that center’s address as an access reference and check wind, waves and permitted paths.

Getting there
Check the current approach and return transport on the map.

02

A first-visit stop

Yuiyui Kunigami Roadside Station

道の駅ゆいゆい国頭

A facility for regional products and visitor information. It is separate from Cape Hedo, so plan transport accordingly. A decorative illustration is used because a suitable photo source could not be secured. Check individual shops’ current opening and stock.

02 · A LITTLE BITE

What could you try?

Village guidance describes produce and processed seafood sold at Yuiyui Kunigami. Check each product’s actual origin, ingredients, allergens and availability. A Yanbaru label alone does not establish that all ingredients come from Kunigami Village.

03 · YOUR FIRST WALK

Keep your first walk simple

Try the first destination’s permitted entrance → public areas. Choose the other stop after checking separate transport and access.

Check the walking route

Check actual distances and travel times on the map. This suggested walk is separate from your app movement record.

Before you set off

  • Check entry arrangements and return transport first.
  • Choose one stop to suit weather, slopes and local restrictions.
  • Respect private areas and photography rules; check food ingredients locally.
