Hi, I’m Tabi!

Akaiwa in Okayama combines ancient sites and peach-growing countryside. Check mountain access to Kumayama and transport to Ryoguyama separately. Prepare return connections rather than assuming a continuous station-side walk.

This guide covers places within Akaiwa, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.

Two places to begin

Two different places: start with whichever interests you.

A first-visit stop

Kumayama Site

熊山遺跡

A three-tier stone structure on a mountain. The city discusses a possible Nara-period Buddhist tower without establishing its purpose conclusively. Photographed in January 2006. Check mountain access, weather and restrictions; do not climb the structure.

Getting there
Check the current approach and return transport on the map.

02

A first-visit stop

Ryoguyama Burial Mound

両宮山古墳

A keyhole-shaped burial mound with a water-filled moat, designated as a national historic site. View it from permitted surrounding paths without entering the mound, moat or private land.

Getting there
Check the current approach and return transport on the map.

02 · A LITTLE BITE

What could you try?

Peaches are a local agricultural product; the city’s tourism guide introduces peach orchards. Check season, origin and current availability, and do not enter farms without permission.

03 · YOUR FIRST WALK

Keep your first walk simple

Try permitted paths around Ryoguyama → public moat views. Plan Kumayama separately to suit mountain conditions.

Check the walking route

Check actual distances and travel times on the map. This suggested walk is separate from your app movement record.

Before you set off

  • Check entry arrangements and return transport first.
  • Choose one stop to suit weather, slopes and local restrictions.
  • Respect private areas and photography rules; check food ingredients locally.
