Hi, I’m Tabi!

Misaki is a town in Okayama offering terraced farming scenery and mining and railway history. It is distinct from Misaki Town in Osaka. The two stops are apart, so plan transport to each separately.

This guide covers places within Misaki, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.

Two places to begin

Two different places: start with whichever interests you.

A first-visit stop

Ohaga-nishi Rice Terraces

大垪和西の棚田

Terraced fields spread across a rural hillside. The park address is an access-planning point, not a claim about the exact camera position. The photo dates to August 2010. Respect farming work, view from permitted paths and stay out of the fields.

Getting there
Check the current approach and return transport on the map.

A first-visit stop

Yanahara Fureai Mining Park

柵原ふれあい鉱山公園

A park with a former Katakami Railway station, preserved rolling stock and a mining museum. The photo shows the museum exterior in 2016. Detailed official guidance says train operation is suspended with no reopening date, so check before expecting a ride. Confirm museum closures separately.

02 · A LITTLE BITE

What could you try?

Kametchi is officially introduced as an egg-over-rice restaurant using the town’s eggs and terraced-field rice. Check current menus, origin labels and instructions for using and storing eggs. This does not mean every restaurant in Misaki uses those ingredients; follow the establishment’s conditions.

03 · YOUR FIRST WALK

Keep your first walk simple

Try the first destination’s permitted entrance → public areas. Choose the other stop after checking separate transport and access.

Check the walking route

Check actual distances and travel times on the map. This suggested walk is separate from your app movement record.

Before you set off

  • Check entry arrangements and return transport first.
  • Choose one stop to suit weather, slopes and local restrictions.
  • Respect private areas and photography rules; check food ingredients locally.
