Hi, I’m Tabi!

Kokonoe is a mountainous town in Oita. Explore valley scenery through the Yume suspension bridge and Kyusuikei. Do not assume the entire Kuju mountain area lies within the town; check current access and return transport.

This guide covers places within Kokonoe, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.

Two places to begin

Two different places: start with whichever interests you.

A first-visit stop

Kyusuikei Gorge

九酔渓

A gorge landscape of woodland and rock. The photo shows green foliage in May 2013, not current autumn colors. Roadsides are not all footpaths or parking areas; check currently permitted viewing and access points.

Getting there

02 · A LITTLE BITE

What could you try?

The bridge operator describes sales of local vegetables, fruit, processed products and burgers at its shop. Confirm meat types, actual ingredients and allergens before ordering. A name alone does not establish that every ingredient is town-grown; opening conditions and stock may change.

03 · YOUR FIRST WALK

Keep your first walk simple

Try the first destination’s permitted entrance → public areas. Choose the other stop after checking separate transport and access.

Check the walking route

Check actual distances and travel times on the map. This suggested walk is separate from your app movement record.

Before you set off

  • Check entry arrangements and return transport first.
  • Choose one stop to suit weather, slopes and local restrictions.
  • Respect private areas and photography rules; check food ingredients locally.
