Hi, I’m Tabi!
Visit a shrine in Hase and an old temple in town. Check names and routes carefully to distinguish similarly named sites elsewhere.
This guide covers places within Shimoichi, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.

Niu Kawakami Shrine Shimosha
丹生川上神社下社
The lower shrine in Hase, Shimoichi, distinct from Kamisha in Kawakami and Nakasha in Higashiyoshino. This April 2013 photograph shows the worship hall exterior. Follow current ritual and photography rules and never touch or feed sacred horses without permission.
Getting there Check the current approach and return transport on the map.
A temple in Shimoichi’s Terauchi area. The April 2010 photograph shows the gate and entrance steps, not the hall interior. Town guidance requires advance permission for garden and bell viewing. Ask about current visiting and photography access and keep the steps clear.
Getting there Check the current approach and return transport on the map.
The town describes kakinoha-zushi: vinegared rice with fish such as mackerel or salmon, pressed in persimmon leaves. Check fish, seasonings and storage instructions, and confirm individual shops’ reservations and opening days.
