Hi, I’m Tabi!
Meet local religious traditions and sculpture at Suwa Taisha’s Shimosha Harumiya and the Manji Stone Buddha. Kamisha and Shimosha are separate sites, so select Shimosha Harumiya carefully on the map.
This guide covers places within Shimosuwa, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.

The photograph shows the heihaiden worship building in April 2015. Distinguish this site from Kamisha and Shimosha Akimiya while admiring its carvings. Follow worship routes, photography restrictions and event instructions; shrine-office hours are separate from grounds access.

This town-designated cultural property places a Buddha head on a large natural stone. The photograph was taken in 2015; the Manji-era date associated with its name is not the photograph’s date. Keep out of surrounding fields and private areas, following marked access and local etiquette.

Shintsuru Honten’s shio yokan is a lightly salted sweet featured in Shimosuwa’s tourism guide. The shop is on the Shimosha Akimiya side, separate from Harumiya in this guide. Check opening days, stock and package labels, and plan the journey separately.
