Hi, I’m Tabi!

Iida in southern Nagano offers a river gorge and central apple-tree avenue. Plan transport separately for the JR Iida Line’s Tenryukyo Station area and central town. Confirm your arrival station and return connections.

This guide covers places within Iida, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.

01 · EXPLORE

Two places to begin

Two different places: start with whichever interests you.

A first-visit stop

Tenryukyo Gorge

天龍峡

Explore gorge scenery shaped by the Tenryu River and rock cliffs. The August 2008 photograph does not show later facilities. Check slopes, weather and walking restrictions; boat-trip bookings are separate.

Getting there
Check the current approach and return transport on the map.

02

A first-visit stop

Apple Avenue

りんご並木

A central avenue of apple trees cared for by a school and the community. Check traffic on the ordinary street and distinguish it from event-day pedestrian arrangements. Do not pick apples without permission.

Getting there
Check the current approach and return transport on the map.

02 · A LITTLE BITE

What could you try?

City material introduces regional fruit including apples, pears and Ichida persimmons. Check seasonal availability and origin labels; not every Ichida persimmon comes from Iida city.

03 · YOUR FIRST WALK

Keep your first walk simple

Try Tenryukyo Station → an entrance to currently open gorge paths. Check local maps, slopes and restrictions; save Apple Avenue for a separate outing.

Check the walking route

Check actual distances and travel times on the map. This suggested walk is separate from your app movement record.

Before you set off

  • Check entry arrangements and return transport first.
  • Choose one stop to suit weather, slopes and local restrictions.
  • Respect private areas and photography rules; check food ingredients locally.
