Hi, I’m Tabi!

Kunitomi in Miyazaki combines agricultural products, a rock-carved Buddha and hillside temple heritage. Plan transport separately for Honjo/Tajiri and Hokkedake. Check bus and return connections; these are not a short, flat combined walk.

This guide covers places within Kunitomi, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.

02

A first-visit stop

Hokkedake Yakushiji Temple

法華嶽薬師寺

A temple associated with Yakushi worship in Hokkedake. Distinguish its traditional founding story from today’s buildings, and check statue access, interior admission and photography arrangements.

Getting there

02 · A LITTLE BITE

What could you try?

Shiratama manju are local steamed sweets of non-glutinous rice dough around smooth bean paste, distinct from ordinary shiratama dumplings. Kunitomi is also known for shredded dried daikon. Check availability, ingredients and allergens.

03 · YOUR FIRST WALK

Keep your first walk simple

Try the public approach → the stone-Buddha viewing area. Check restrictions and slopes, and arrange separate transport to the temple.

Check the walking route

Check actual distances and travel times on the map. This suggested walk is separate from your app movement record.

Before you set off

  • Check entry arrangements and return transport first.
  • Choose one stop to suit weather, slopes and local restrictions.
  • Respect private areas and photography rules; check food ingredients locally.
