Hi, I’m Tabi!

Begin quietly at two shrines in Iwanuma, Miyagi. The opening photograph shows the rear of Takekoma Shrine’s main sanctuary in 2013. Follow current visitor routes and photography notices.

This guide covers places within Iwanuma, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.

01 · EXPLORE

Two places to begin

Two different places: start with whichever interests you.

A first-visit stop

Takekoma Shrine

竹駒神社

This shrine stands in Inari-machi. The winter 2013 photograph shows its main sanctuary; stay outside fenced and ceremonial areas. Respect worshippers, and distinguish general visitor access from prayer-service reception times.

Getting there
Check the current approach and return transport on the map.

Kanahebi Suijinja worship hall in 201302

A first-visit stop

Kanahebi Suijinja Shrine

金蛇水神社

The photograph shows the worship hall in 2013. Follow public paths around the shrine in Miiroyoshi. Flowers, events and facilities change over time; check current access and crowd notices. Distinguish general visitor access from prayer-service and event arrangements.

Getting there
Check the current approach and return transport on the map.

02 · A LITTLE BITE

What could you try?

Consider narazuke sold by an Iwanuma producer: vegetables pickled in sake lees. This does not mean narazuke originated in Iwanuma. Check ingredients, alcohol content and storage. Takekoma’s Inari Cafe has announced a suspension of service and is not recommended as a stop.

03 · YOUR FIRST WALK

Keep your first walk simple

Try the first destination’s permitted entrance → public areas. Choose the other stop after checking separate transport and access.

Check the walking route

Check actual distances and travel times on the map. This suggested walk is separate from your app movement record.

Before you set off

  • Check entry arrangements and return transport first.
  • Choose one stop to suit weather, slopes and local restrictions.
  • Respect private areas and photography rules; check food ingredients locally.
