Hi, I’m Tabi!
Begin with a park and riverside in Shibata, Miyagi. The cherry-blossom photograph records spring. The slope car is currently suspended, so consider the uphill walk before setting off.
This guide covers places within Shibata, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.

Funaoka Castle Ruins Park
船岡城址公園
The 2023 photograph shows the park gate. Paths on this former castle hill include slopes, and the slope car cannot take you to the summit. Check current bear notices and closures; choose an open section suited to the weather and your ability.
Getting there Check the current approach and return transport on the map.
This riverside was photographed from Sakura Footbridge in 2011. The cherry trees extend into neighbouring Ōgawara; this guide covers the Funaoka side in Shibata. Do not expect spring blossoms in autumn. Check river levels and access notices, and stay on designated paths.
Getting there Check the current approach and return transport on the map.
Local specialities include yuzu and Shibata no Zeitaku Miso. Ingredients and retailers vary between miso and yuzu products. Check allergens such as soy, current stock and storage requirements before choosing.
