Hi, I’m Tabi!
Sendai combines urban areas with wooded historic places. Choose the museum or Zuihoden first, checking transport and slopes before adding the castle hill.
This guide covers places within Sendai, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.

A first-visit stop
Zuihoden
瑞鳳殿
Visit Date Masamune’s mausoleum setting and surrounding woods. The photo shows approach steps and a gate, rather than the mausoleum building; check entry and visitor routes.
Getting there Check the slope and steps from the Zuihoden-mae bus stop
Explore stone walls and the history of Date Masamune’s hilltop castle site. Original castle buildings are not intact; check slopes and current access routes.
Getting there Check buses and other transport from Sendai station
Discover Sendai’s history and culture through museum exhibits near the foot of the castle hill. Check current exhibitions, entry and photography rules.
Getting there Check the museum route from International Center subway station

Zunda is a paste made from boiled green soybeans and a food tradition associated with Sendai. Try sweets such as zunda mochi, checking soybean allergens, ingredients and storage.
Try International Center station → the museum area. Check entry first, and plan the castle hill or Zuihoden separately with transport and steps in mind.
