Hi, I’m Tabi!

Shima is a Mie city of peninsulas and intricate bays. Arrange separate connections from Kintetsu Ugata Station to the overlook and Nakiri. They are apart, and the station-to-overlook approach is not a short, flat stroll.

This guide covers places within Shima, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.

01 · EXPLORE

Two places to begin

Two different places: start with whichever interests you.

A first-visit stop

Yokoyama Observatory

横山展望台

An overlook across the islands and branching inlets of Ago Bay’s ria coast. The July 2014 image records the landscape, not today’s terrace facilities. Check hillside access, parking and taxi arrangements.

Daiosaki Lighthouse

大王埼灯台

A white lighthouse on the Nakiri headland, photographed in February 2021. Check interior admission, stairs and weather-related operations and respect residential lanes nearby.

02 · A LITTLE BITE

What could you try?

Tekone sushi mixes soy-marinated fish with rice, a Shima specialty. Check the fish used, including bonito, raw-fish suitability, soy ingredients and allergens. Cooking activities may need separate reservations.

03 · YOUR FIRST WALK

Keep your first walk simple

Try the overlook entrance → public viewing terrace. Check current paths and slopes; choose the lighthouse for another outing.

Check the walking route

Check actual distances and travel times on the map. This suggested walk is separate from your app movement record.

Before you set off

  • Check entry arrangements and return transport first.
  • Choose one stop to suit weather, slopes and local restrictions.
  • Respect private areas and photography rules; check food ingredients locally.
