Hi, I’m Tabi!

Uki is a Kumamoto city with Misumi’s old port and Matsuai’s white-walled streets. Distinguish it from Uto and the wider Amakusa area. These are separate districts; choose one first and check current transport, roads and return services.

This guide covers places within Uki, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.

01 · EXPLORE

Two places to begin

Two different places: start with whichever interests you.

Stonework at Misumi West Port in 201201

A first-visit stop

Misumi West Port

三角西港

A component of a World Heritage Site, with stone-built port scenery dating to the Meiji period. The photo shows port stonework in 2012. Check public areas and building works; stay out of port working zones.

Getting there
Check the current approach and return transport on the map.

White-walled buildings along a Matsuai street in 201802

A first-visit stop

Matsuai White-Walled Storehouse Streets

松合土蔵白壁群

White-walled storehouses reflect the district’s fire-protection history. The photo dates from 2018. It remains a lived-in place:use public streets and do not enter homes or gardens without permission.

Getting there
Check the current approach and return transport on the map.

02 · A LITTLE BITE

What could you try?

Official city tourism material features Shiranui citrus. Shiranui is a cultivar name and Dekopon a brand name, so not every Shiranui fruit is presented as Dekopon. Check actual origin, availability and labeling.

03 · YOUR FIRST WALK

Keep your first walk simple

Try the first destination’s permitted entrance → public areas. Choose the other stop after checking separate transport and access.

Check the walking route

Check actual distances and travel times on the map. This suggested walk is separate from your app movement record.

Before you set off

  • Check entry arrangements and return transport first.
  • Choose one stop to suit weather, slopes and local restrictions.
  • Respect private areas and photography rules; check food ingredients locally.
