Hi, I’m Tabi!
This guide covers Ōzu Town in Kumamoto, distinct from Ōzu City in Ehime and Ōtsu City in Shiga. Choose the shrine or town park first and plan the roadside station separately.
This guide covers places within Ōzu Town, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.

Hiyoshi Shrine
日吉神社
A hillside shrine for town views and local worship. Azaleas are a spring attraction rather than year-round flowers. The photo dates from 2024; check steps and respect worship routes.
Getting there Check public approaches to the shrine in Ozu
Browse regional produce and specialties at a roadside station on Route 57. The 2009 exterior photo may differ from current shops and products. Check pedestrian routes around vehicle entrances.
Getting there Check separate transport to the roadside station in Hikimizu
The town’s tourism guide features karaimo, or sweet potatoes, as a specialty. Check origin, ingredients, season and availability for roasted potatoes or processed products, rather than assuming every sweet-potato snack uses local produce.
Begin around Hiyoshi Shrine’s public worship paths, allowing for hills and steps. Do not expect spring azaleas in autumn. Check separate locations and transport for Showa Park and the roadside station.
