Eta Funayama Kofun
江田船山古墳
This late-fifth-century keyhole-shaped burial mound reveals links across ancient East Asia. The original National Treasure finds are held by the Tokyo National Museum, rather than displayed here. Explore the mound and park and follow on-site guidance for the chamber.

This open-air museum preserves relocated traditional houses. Check workshop reservations and opening days individually. Its July 2025 reopening notice still mentions water and toilet restrictions, so ask about current repairs as well as Monday and other closure dates.

Yamataro-gane is the local name for mitten crab from the Kikuchi River. It is associated with autumn food traditions, but festival dates do not guarantee restaurant availability. Ask ahead about cooked crab dishes on your visit date.
