Takaba Castle Ruins Park

竹迫城跡公園

A park shaped around the old castle site’s natural terrain, with a history plaza and bamboo garden. Expect earthworks and landscape rather than a reconstructed castle keep. Follow permitted paths and enjoy seasonal wildlife without collecting it.

What could you try?

A local produce market highlights Koshi’s small watermelons and seasonal crops. It also stocks products from elsewhere in Kumamoto, so check origin labels. Harvest season and daily stock differ; particular fruits are not guaranteed year-round.
