Plan a first visit to the Ashizuri area around Kongofuku-ji’s entrance. Ashizuri Cape’s observation deck has been closed for construction since 2 October 2026, with reopening to be announced separately. Both cape and temple photographs date to June 2009 and do not establish current access.

金剛福寺
Temple 38 of the Shikoku pilgrimage stands near Cape Ashizuri. The June 2009 photograph shows the gate and entrance, not the main hall or indoor statues. Respect worshippers and follow notices within open grounds.

The photograph shows the lighthouse above the cliffs in June 2009, not a viewpoint confirmed accessible today. The observation deck is closed for construction; also check notices about the detour towards Tengu-no-Hana. Do not cross barriers or enter work zones, using only paths confirmed open locally.

02 · A LITTLE BITE
Tosashimizu is a fishing city known for products such as soda-bushi dried fish and Shimizu saba mackerel. Check origin, catches, processing and daily availability. A brand name does not mean every mackerel is the same product or intended to be eaten raw; follow shop and product preparation guidance.
