Hi, I’m Tabi!
Shimanto City is distinct from Shimanto Town. Explore Sada low-water bridge and Ichijo Shrine in Nakamura, pictured in May 2009 and February 2018 respectively. Road restrictions for Sada Tunnel repairs are announced in October 2026; check the detour notice before travelling.
This guide covers places within Shimanto City, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.

Sada low-water bridge
佐田沈下橋
View the unrailed bridge and river from permitted riverside points. The photograph dates to May 2009, not current water or access conditions. Sada Tunnel is scheduled to close 8:30–17:00 from 19 October to 19 November 2026, with no construction normally planned on weekends. Check official updates and detours.

This hilltop shrine is associated with the former Nakamura residence and is affectionately called Ichijokosan locally. The February 2018 photograph shows the main worship hall and Tenjin shrine exteriors. Take care on steps and do not infer current events or office opening from the photograph.

Explore the river’s food culture through ingredients such as ayu sweetfish and aonori. Origins, catches and seasons affect sales and menus; check labels and daily availability. The name “Shimanto” alone does not mean every ingredient was caught or grown within this city.
