Hi, I’m Tabi!

Get to know Gojome through its market-side community centre and castle-shaped forestry museum. Photographs show the Fureai-kan exterior in September 2019 and the museum in August 2017, not a market in progress or current exhibits.

This guide covers places within Gojome, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.

五城目朝市ふれあい館

This community facility beside the market street offers a place to rest and obtain local information. The photograph shows its exterior in September 2019. The market does not run daily; check its calendar separately and note facility closures such as Mondays without a market.

Gojome Forestry Museum and Castle

五城目町森林資料館・五城目城

This castle-shaped museum was built in Moriyama Forest Park; it is not a surviving historic keep. The photograph dates to August 2017. Check the December–March winter closure and respect the stated rockfall closure of the management road from the park towards Moriyama’s bell-tower summit.

Getting there

02 · A LITTLE BITE

What could you try?

Damako nabe is a regional hot pot with round dumplings of mashed rice, chicken and vegetables. Gojome’s official guide introduces this dish, whose rice dumplings differ in shape from kiritanpo. Check ingredients and serving days with restaurants rather than assuming it is always sold at the market.

03 · YOUR FIRST WALK

Keep your first walk simple

Try the first destination’s permitted entrance → public areas. Choose the other stop after checking separate transport and access.

Check the walking route

Check actual distances and travel times on the map. This suggested walk is separate from your app movement record.

Before you set off

  • Check entry arrangements and return transport first.
  • Choose one stop to suit weather, slopes and local restrictions.
  • Respect private areas and photography rules; check food ingredients locally.
