Hi, I’m Tabi!

Hakone combines hot springs, mountains and a lake. Destinations are dispersed; choose one waterfront area and check buses from Hakone-Yumoto and return services.

This guide covers places within Hakone, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.

01 · EXPLORE

Three places to begin

Three places with different atmospheres. Start with the one that appeals to you instead of visiting them all.

02 · A LITTLE BITE

What could you try?

Kuro tamago are eggs boiled in Owakudani hot-spring water, turning their shells black. Check egg allergens and current sales. Stories of extending lifespan are folklore.

03 · YOUR FIRST WALK

Keep your first walk simple

Try the Motohakone waterfront → the shrine area, checking approach steps and buses. Arrange separate transport and access checks for Owakudani.

Check the walking route

Check actual distances and travel times on the map. This suggested walk is separate from your app movement record.

Before you set off

  • Check current entry rules, opening information and return transport.
  • Choose an outing suited to steps, slopes and weather.
  • Respect worship spaces and photography rules; check food ingredients at the shop.
