Hi, I’m Tabi!
On the western Osumi Peninsula, Tarumizu offers Kinko Bay views and seasonal ginkgo groves. Yellow foliage usually peaks from late November to early December; distinguish that season from an October visit.
This guide covers places within Tarumizu, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.

Tarumizu Thousand Ginkgos

The photograph shows the B-block ginkgo path in December 2011. Peak color is usually late November to early December and varies by year. This is privately owned land opened to visitors; check access arrangements and respect the owners’ rules.

This coastal rest stop is at Ushine Fumoto. The 2024 photograph looks from here toward Shin-jima in Kinko Bay; it does not present the island itself as a destination within Tarumizu. Distinguish this stop from Tarumizu Hamabira farther south.

Look for Umi no Okan, Tarumizu’s farmed greater amberjack, also featured at the city fishery cooperative’s restaurant. Menus and business hours can change, so check before visiting.
