Hi, I’m Tabi!

This guide covers Iwate Town, rather than the whole prefecture. Visit a roadside market and Mido Kannon as separate stops with transport planned between them.

This guide covers places within Iwate Town, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.

道の駅 石神の丘

The station has local produce, regional products and a restaurant. The exterior photograph dates from 2014 and does not establish the current shop layout. Check the neighboring art museum’s admission and exhibition details separately.

02

A first-visit stop

Mido Kannon

御堂観音

Formally Kitakamiyama Shintsuhoji Shokaku-in, this temple is known locally as Mido Kannon. Its founding story is presented as tradition. Respect worshippers and follow local rules on photography and entry.

Getting there

02 · A LITTLE BITE

What could you try?

Look for Iwate Harumidori cabbage, grown chiefly around Iwate Town. The local agricultural cooperative describes it as sweet and tender summer cabbage. Check availability and origin at the shop.

03 · YOUR FIRST WALK

Keep your first walk simple

Try the first destination’s permitted entrance → public areas. Choose the other stop after checking separate transport and access.

Check the walking route

Check actual distances and travel times on the map. This suggested walk is separate from your app movement record.

Before you set off

  • Check entry arrangements and return transport first.
  • Choose one stop to suit weather, slopes and local restrictions.
  • Respect private areas and photography rules; check food ingredients locally.
