Hi, I’m Tabi!

Plan separate visits to a cave waterfall and a community space in a historic townhouse in Sumita. The mountain cave and central Setamai are apart; check transport between them and your return arrangements.

This guide covers places within Sumita, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.

01 · EXPLORE

Two places to begin

Two different places: start with whichever interests you.

A first-visit stop

Rokando Cave

滝観洞

Follow a cave route toward an underground waterfall. The photographs show the waterfall and entrance in 2010, not the present visitor facilities. Prepare for slippery footing and low sections, and check winter opening days, equipment and admission conditions with the operator.

Getting there
Check the current approach and return transport on the map.

02

A first-visit stop

Machiya Setamai-eki

まち家世田米駅

A former Kanno family townhouse and storehouses adapted as a community hub. Despite “eki” in its name, it is not a railway station. Check current accessible areas, events and visiting arrangements.

02 · A LITTLE BITE

What could you try?

Sumita’s harami specialty uses chicken abdominal muscle, rather than beef. Seasoning and serving styles vary; choose thoroughly cooked dishes and check menus and ingredients.

03 · YOUR FIRST WALK

Keep your first walk simple

Try the first destination’s permitted entrance → public areas. Choose the other stop after checking separate transport and access.

Check the walking route

Check actual distances and travel times on the map. This suggested walk is separate from your app movement record.

Before you set off

  • Check entry arrangements and return transport first.
  • Choose one stop to suit weather, slopes and local restrictions.
  • Respect private areas and photography rules; check food ingredients locally.
