Hi, I’m Tabi!
Asago offers hilltop castle ruins and mining heritage in Hyōgo. Choose the Takeda station area or Ikuno first. The castle requires an uphill outing; plan separate transport for the mining sites.
This guide covers places within Asago, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.

Stone walls remain on a hilltop; the photo dates from 2013 and cloud seas depend on weather. The official notice for 11 October 2026 closes the western trail and Yamashiro no Sato, with related buses and taxis suspended. Access is on foot via designated eastern trails. Recheck arrangements for your visiting date.
Getting there Check JR Takeda station and official trail guidance
Learn about mining history and designated tunnel visits. The 2010 photograph shows an old adit, not today’s visitor entrance. Keep out of closed openings and follow the official visitor route.
Getting there Check separate transport to the mine in Ikuno
An industrial heritage site with concrete foundations from an ore-processing plant that stopped operating in 1987. Its buildings were removed. Follow designated viewing areas and local signs.

Iwatsu negi is Asago’s winter leek specialty, documented by its producers. Look for preparations such as grilled leeks, checking season, ingredients and availability.
Try Takeda station → public paths along Teramachi Street, respecting temples and residents. Decide separately on the castle hike after checking ability, weather and current restrictions, especially the notice for 11 October 2026.
