Hi, I’m Tabi!

Kitahiroshima is a city in Hokkaido, distinct from Kitahiroshima town in Hiroshima prefecture. Choose a wooded cycle and pedestrian route or a settlement-era transport heritage site. Plan separate transport and check seasonal arrangements.

This guide covers places within Kitahiroshima, rather than places immediately beside your app check-in.

01 · EXPLORE

Two places to begin

Two different places: start with whichever interests you.

A first-visit stop

Elfin Road Cycle Station

エルフィンロード 自転車の駅

A rest point along a cycle and pedestrian route, shown outside in 2023. Check seasonal opening and current rental and rest facilities, sharing the path considerately.

Getting there
JR Kitahiroshima Station and the Cycle Station are different places. Use official Elfin Road maps to check access sections, seasonal restrictions and return transport.

02

A first-visit stop

Former Shimamatsu Relay Station

旧島松駅逓所

A historic facility supporting lodging, transport and horse changes during settlement. Distinguish it from a railway station and check seasonal visits. Explore its history alongside the story of Akage rice cultivation.

Getting there
Locate the historic site at Shimamatsu1 and consult official bus guidance. The city notes no direct departures from JR Kitahiroshima or Shimamatsu stations, so plan transfers and return travel separately.

02 · A LITTLE BITE

What could you try?

City tourism guidance introduces confections such as Mai-Pi roll made with Akage rice flour. Check actual rice origin, product ingredients, allergens and availability; no shop recommendation, local rice in every dish or current price is guaranteed.

03 · YOUR FIRST WALK

Keep your first walk simple

Try the first destination’s permitted entrance → public areas. Choose the other stop after checking separate transport and access.

Check the walking route

Check actual distances and travel times on the map. This suggested walk is separate from your app movement record.

Before you set off

  • Check entry arrangements and return transport first.
  • Choose one stop to suit weather, slopes and local restrictions.
  • Respect private areas and photography rules; check food ingredients locally.
